STEADY REST DEVICE FOR SPREADER OF CONTAINER CRANE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of cargo handling by checking runout of spreaders.;SOLUTION: The steady rest device for use with a spreader 10 of a container crane 1 for loading or unloading containers 21 into or from containerships comprises a pair of guide rails 16 hung from the middle underside of a crosstie 9a of a trolley 9 so as to hold a sheave block 12 in between, vertical guide rollers 14 mounted on the sheave block 12, and horizontal guide rollers 20 disposed above the sheave block 12. The guide rails 16 splay out and have an inwardly open channel whose width becomes wider as approaching the lower end, so that when the spreader 10 is moved vertically, the vertical guide rollers 14 roll on the groove bottoms of the guide rails 16 while the horizontal guide rollers 20 roll on the groove sides of the guide rails 16 to guide the sheave block 12.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
