PURPOSE:To provide a screening test paper for screening a microorganism capable of producing an enzyme, which enables easy, rapid and light screening at a sampling place simply by impregnating a solid-liquid separating part of the aforementioned test paper with a sample for screening the microorganism, distributing in the natural world such as soil, seawater and river water and capable of producing the enzyme and observing the coloring and a method for the screening using the same. CONSTITUTION:A test paper is provided with a solid-liquid separating part 11 for removing a solid substance in a sample in the direction (A) for raising water in a base material capable of raising water containing a microorganism capable of producing an enzyme according to a capillary phenomena, an enzymic reaction inhibitor removing part 12 for removing the enzymic reaction inhibitor, a substrate part 13 to be subjected to the action of the microorganism capable of producing the enzyme and a detecting part 14 impregnated with an ingredient, reactive with ingredients produced by reacting the microorganism capable of producing the enzyme with the substrate part 13 and coloring.
