PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve shape control precision by measuring shape affecting coefficients of an actuator in an off-center state and the centering state of a sheet metal and controlling the operation of the actuator every state of the sheet metal based on a detected sheet shape and sheet end position. ;SOLUTION: Shape detecting sensors 20a, 20b, which detect a distribution of tension in the width direction of the sheet while supporting a sheet metal, are provided. Sheet end detecting sensors 21a, 21b which detect a sheet end are provided. A crown adjusting device 12 which corrects the shape in the central part and quarter part of the sheet is provided. A lateral adjusting device, which transfers intermediate rolls 7a, 7b in the axial direction and imparts deflection to work rolls 6a, 6b, are provided. An inclined rolling down mechanism, which symmetrically rolls down the working side and driving side of an upper housing 3o and inclines the work rolls 6a, 6b, is provided. Actuators of the crown adjusting device 12, the lateral adjusting device and the inclined rolling down mechanism are controlled in accordance with data of the shape detecting sensors 20a, 20b and sheet end detecting sensors 21a, 21b.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
