PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a data rate and to make an ISDN channel into a sub channel.;SOLUTION: A setup message generated by a transmission side terminal 100 includes a band width adjustment message for specifying a sub channel data rate used at the time of transmitting data to a destination side terminal. The setup message specifies the data rate and a relating destination side terminal and is transmitted to an ISDN switch 220 for connecting the transmission side terminal 100 and the destination side terminal. The ISDN switch 220 takes out the band width adjustment message and establishes the link to the sub channel. When the link is established, the transmission side terminal 100 transmits the message through the ISDN switch 220 to the respective destination side terminals at the data rate corresponding to the data rate of the established sub channel.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
