(57) Abstract This invention, the water stable mullite precursive material sol which has new ecological compatibility, regards the mullite composite material, and the manner which produces these. Mullite precursive material sol is synthesized in the water making use of the tetra- ethoxy silane and nitric acid aluminum. Adding water resolution the tetra- ethoxy silane with the water and the water ammonium oxide catalytic converter, it makes silica sol, next, cools suddenly this silica sol with the aqueous solution of nitric acid aluminum. When the mullite precursive material sol of this invention is used, it is possible to produce the high density ceramic composite material.
