PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the plated composite coating excellent in scratch resistance and durability, which has a superiorly high water-repellent property such that the contact angle with water is not less than 140° and which can be produced by using an inexpensive commercial material, and to provide the method for producing the same. ;SOLUTION: The superiorly high water-repellent plated composite coating contains dispersed copolymer fine particles of tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkylvinyl ether having an average particle diameter of ≤2 μm and exhibits a contact angle with water of ≥140° after heat treatment. The base material is provided with the superiorly high water-repellent plated composite coating. The method for producing the base material provided with the superiorly high water-repellent plated composite coating having a contact angle with water of ≥140° comprises forming the plated composite coating on the surface of the base plate by codepositing tetrafluoroethylene- perfluoroalkylvinyl ether copolymer particles in an electrolytic plating liquid containing a surfactant which is cationic at the pH value of the plating liquid and the copolymer particles in dispersed state and then subjecting the plated composite coating to heat treatment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
