PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste crushing volume reduction device which crushes with high volume reduction rate even if waste is comparatively lightweight and shaped in a rotary body, generates no noise, small, and realizes a large waste storage quantity.;SOLUTION: A cabinet is internally equipped with a crushing mechanism 20 above and has an open container 18 placed in a lower part. Waste thrown into the cabinet from an upper part is crushed by the crushing mechanism 20. Crushed fragments drops into and are stored in the open container 18. The crushing mechanism 20 is equipped with a pair of roll-shaped rotary cutting blades 3 and 3 juxtaposed substantially parallel and meshingly rotating in a direction mutually facing each other, and an intermittent operation pressing mechanism 23 pressing the thrown in waste and forcing thereof to be bitten into meshing gaps of the pair of roll-shaped rotary cutting blades 3 and 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
