PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bypass line switch-back control circuit that automatically avoid pressing of traffic of a bypass by automatically controlling confirmation of fault restoration and bypass switch-back even in the case of a still communication path setting method. ;SOLUTION: When an L1 control section 17 confirms restoration of a physical layer, the control section 17 informs a channel control CPU 11 of the restoration. The channel control CPU 11 sets transmission data to confirm the restoration of an ATM layer and a transfer instruction to a virtual DTE 15 and gives an instruction of ATM assembling of a frame with an FCS added thereto and of transmission of the cell to a restored path to a cell disassembling/assembling section 12. An opposite station conducts also similar control to transmit a frame for confirming the restoration to its own station. When the virtual DTE 15 confirms the normal reception of the frame from the opposite station, the channel control CPU 11 returns a reply with respect to the frame to the opposite station and informs a main CPU 6 of its own station of the path channel restoration.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
