PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for converting less carbon number aliphatic hydrocarbon into more carbon number hydrocarbon, provide a preparing method of the catalyst and a method of converting the small carbon number aliphatic hydrocarbon into greater carbon number hydrocarbon. ;SOLUTION: A small carbon number aliphatic hydrocarbon such as methane is brought into contact with a catalyst containing a porous substrate such as a ZSM-5 in which a promoter metal such as rhenium, iron, cobalt, vanadium, manganese, molybdenum, or tungsten or a mixture of them is dispersed in an amount effective as a catalyst in the presence of CO or CO2 or a mixture of them, and also under the converting conditions of an aliphatic raw material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
