PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for detoxifying incineration ash or fly ash by easily removing heavy metals therefrom with high efficiency. ;SOLUTION: In a chlorinating process, incineration ash or fly ash is kneaded in the presence of chlorine, a chlorine compd. or chlorine ions to convert heavy metals, a zinc compd. an/or a tin compd. contained in the incineration ash or fly ash to chlorides. In a succeeding heating and removing process, the kneaded mater of the incineration ash or fly ash is heated to 600-900°C to volatilize and remove heavy metal chlorides along with zinc chloride and/or tin chloride.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
