PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a work efficiency in synthesizing form images by setting a form-designating means which stores a plurality of form images as a bit image and designates the form image to be synthesized for every page when the bit image and the form image are to be synthesized. SOLUTION: For example, when a mode of copying on both faces of one sheet from two sheets of single-faced documents is set beforehand, a form image for a front face of the sheet and a form image for a rear face of the sheet are respectively selected by a user at a form image basic set screen and registered to an image memory part 305. Image data read out from the image memory part 305 are sent to an image-synthesizing part 306 via a layout memory of a memory control part 303. The image-synthesizing part 306 operates an OR of image information being printed and the form images registered into the image memory part 305, thereby carrying out an image synthesis process. A work efficiency in synthesizing form images is improved accordingly.
