PTC COMPOSITION, PTC ELEMENT AND OVERCURRENT PROTECTING ELEMENT USING THE ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a PTC composition having a sufficiently low resistance value in a steady state (room temperature), not igniting when an electric current is sent, having slight rise in resistance at every action, capable of arbitrarily setting an action temperature, having an electric resistance showing positive temperature characteristics, useful as a PTC element, etc., by dispersing metal nitride powder as electroconductive powder into a polymer component. ;SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) a polymer component and (B) metal nitride powder (preferably at least one kind of CeN, Cr2N, GdN, HfN, LaN, etc.), as main components in the component ratio of the component B in the range of 10-60 vol% based on the whole objective composition. The component A comprises preferably a combination of at least two kinds of a polyethylene having ≥100°C melting point and a copolymer having 100°C melting point in the volume ratio of the copolymer to the polyethylene of 0-80%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
