DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPH FINISHING SYSTEM CONTAINING SCENE- BALANCED/CONTRAST-NORMALIZED/VISUALIZED DIGITAL PICTURE PROCESSING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a superior picture through the use of digital printing by generating a digital color picture with optical printing gray level, mapping the digital color picture which is contrast-normalized through a hard copy medium characteristic curve and visualizing it with a visualized algorithm. SOLUTION: A digital scanner 12 scans a color film 14 and generates the digital color picture of a color picture frame 16. A shift value for correcting the picture is given to the digital picture with scene balance algorithm in a picture data manager 18 after conversion to printing gray level and tone is corrected by contrast normalization algorithm. The picture which is balanced and contrast-normalized is mapped on a whole color printing paper characteristic curve, is visualized by indistinct masking algorithm. A printer 20 digitally prints the picture on color printing paper 22.
