PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new easy-to-handle digital camera having the continuous effective range of the magnification and capable of obtaining the highest image quality for any set magnification value. SOLUTION: The camera is provided with zoom control switching devices 30, 32 and 33 including a zoom-in switch 30 and a zoom-out switch 32 for separately executing a zoom-in operation and a zoom-out operation, and a zoom control part 300 for facilitating the smooth shift to the next incremented optical digital zooming magnification set value in response to the zoom-in switch 30, and the next incremented optical digital zooming magnification set value means the individual optical digital zooming magnification in a combined optical digital zooming magnification extent from the product of the minimum optical digital zooming magnification of Z1Dn to the product of the maximum optical digital zooming magnification of Z1Dn.
