A potentiometer 24 is employed as the resistor in an RC circuit for pulse generation of a UJT 26 and the joint 29 of the potentiometer 24 and a capacitor 30 is connected with the emitter 28 of the UJT 26 and the other terminal of the capacitor 30 is connected with the minus side 7. The base 31 of the UJT 1 is connected with a turn on transistor 12 connected with the gate 14 of a thyristor and the base 27 of the UJT 26 is connected with a turn off transistor 20 of the thyristor.
