PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject NEW expression vector that includes the replication origin, the auxotrophic marker gene, a promoter that works in a procaryote and a foreign gene and causes no homologous recombination with the genome of a procaryote. SOLUTION: This is a new minimum expression vector for a procaryote that contains (A) the replication origin, (B) the auxotrophic marker gene, (C) a promoter that has its functional activity in a procaryote and (D) a foreign gene to be expressed under the control of this promoter, cannot cause the homologous recombination with the genome of a procaryote and can be selected without aid of the antibiotic substances and is useful for production of recombination proteins. This expression vector is prepared by linking a minimum functional factors comprising the expression cassette containing (A) the replication origin, (B) the auxotrophic marker gene that permits the cell proliferation of the auxotrophic host strain, and (C) a promoter and by incorporating (D) a exogenote into the vector.
