PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic fine tuning, at a site, of the rotor time- constant parameter of a motor in a field-oriented driving device without need of removing or separating the motor from an elevator system. SOLUTION: An elevator control apparatus 7 is provided with a logic 48. The logic 48 raises and lowers and elevator so as to, it computes a rotor time constant R for a field-oriented current regulator/a motor driving device 20, it computes an average DXDERR of sign adjusted error signals for the raising, lowering and running operation of the elevator, it changes the time constant R, and it decides the value of the time constant R. By the value of the time constant R, the average of DXDERR with reference to the raising, lowering and running operation of the elevator becomes equal to zero within a prescribed tolerance. IN addition, instead of computing the average of DXDERR, the value of the time constant R at which the average of DXDERR becomes equal to zero within the prescribed tolerance is decided. As a result, a single elevator run operation can be used.
