In collection of water from dry soil according to a tension capillary lysimeter method, the infiltration chambers 24, 31 are shut off from the atmosphere and a vacuum pump 65 is operated so that a suction pressure and water condition in the soil are equilibrated, and consequently, water is collected into the inside of the infiltration chamber 31.
