PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthogonal difference lattice generating device which automatically generates a finite difference lattice used for a finite difference method based on preliminarily given ground data, also introduces an approximation method for a shape obtained by using the space occupancy rate for each calculation lattice and improves the degree of approximation for the shape and to provide its generating method and a storage medium in which an orthogonal difference lattice generating program is stored.;SOLUTION: This device is provided with an initial lattice generating part 10 which uses contour data for geography included in an analysis area and generates an initial lattice in the analysis area, a secondary lattice generating part 20 which divides the initial lattice, forms plural layer areas having the same thickness as the height interval of contours shown by the contour data, also generates a lattice reflecting the initial lattice in every layer area and generates a secondary lattice by subdividing the lattice generated in the layer area in accordance with a contour shape included in a divided plane of the layer area and a lattice point adjusting part 30 which matches the secondary lattice of each layer area by making a newly set lattice point in the secondary lattice reflect in the whole layer areas.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
