PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reverse osmosis membrane separation device in which smooth chemical washing operation and hot water disinfection operation can be carried out by a simple equipment and the changeover to normal operation can be carried out automatically. ;SOLUTION: A reverse osmosis membrane separation device is provided with a chemical liquid/hot water tank 91 for storing cleaning chemical liquid or hot water, a chemical liquid-hot water feed line (2) connecting the hot water tank 91 with a raw water feed line (1) on the suction side of a pressure pump through a liquid feed valve SV-7 and chemical liquid/hot water lines (3) and (4) connecting respectively a condensed water drain line (6) and a permeated water line (5) of a reverse osmosis composite membrane module 6 with the chemical liquid/hot water tank 91 through return valves SV-5 and SV-6, respectively. A heating means 10 is provided in the chemical/hot water tank 91, and chemical liquid or hot water is circulated through respective lines at the time of cleaning or disinfecting using the chemical liquid or hot water, while circulating lines are closed at the time of normal permeated water feeding, and the operation is carried out under the normal operation conditions.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
