PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active pixel sensor which utilizes a PIN type photodiode, wherein the color of received light is effectively detected without using a color filter. SOLUTION: A substrate 20, PIN type diodes 24, 26, and 28, which electrically connected to a first dope region 32 of the substrate, electrify electric charges when it receives a photon of a first wavelength band, and a second doped region 36, which existing in a substrate 20, electrifies electric charges when it receives photons of a second wavelength band, are provided. The photons of second wavelength band are so configured as not to be substantially detected with the PIN type diodes 24, 26, and 28. The substrate 20 may further comprise a third dope region 40 which electrifies the electric charges, only when a photon comprising a third wavelength band is received.
