PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding condition monitoring device capable of precisely judging and monitoring a grinding condition of a grinding wheel. ;SOLUTION: Since a grinding condition of a grinding wheel is judged based on an AE signal (acoustic emission signal) on grinding wheel side generated in a grinding wheel and an AE signal on material to be ground side generated in the material to be ground which are frequency-analyzed as they are by grinding condition judging means 60, 64, it becomes clear whether the AE signal is generated in the grinding wheel or the material to be ground when compared with the case where a grinding condition is judged based on either of the AE signals, thereby increasing the judgment precision of the grinding condition satisfactorily. Moreover, since the AE signal on grinding wheel side and the AE signal on material to be ground side are frequency-analyzed as they are, changes of frequency distribution of the AE signal itself and machining form during grinding become clear when compared with the case where an envelope connecting peak values of AE signals in time series, namely, change of time of peak values of AE signals is used, thereby increasing judgment precision of the grinding condition.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
