GUANYLAMINOTETRAZOLE AND GAS-GENERATING AGENT FOR AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY DEVICE USING THE SAME AS BASIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain guanylaminotetrazole sparingly containing impurities and to prepare a gas-generating agent having the high decomposition temperature and excellent heat stability by employing the compound as a gas-generating basis. ;SOLUTION: A guanylaminotetrazole is obtained by removing impurities having the low decomposition-starting temperature from the crude product produced by reacting cyanamide with 5-aminotetrazole. This gas-generating agent for automotive safety device contains the guanylaminotetrazole as a basis, contains the guanylaminotetrazole and an oxidant as effective ingredients or may contain the guanylaminotetrazole, an oxidant, and a cooling and residue- forming agent as effective ingredients. The oxidant is at least one kind selected from the group consisting of an oxohalogen acid salt and a nitrate. The cooling and residue-forming agent contains at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a metal oxide, a carbonate and a sulfate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
