ACCELERATOR CAPABLE OF HIGHLY ACCURATE ALIGNMENT AND HIGHLY ACCURATE ALIGNMENT METHOD IN THIS ACCELERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To align an accelerator of high reliability and excellent accuracy even in a large type by providing a means for aligning an accelerating cavity tube and an accelerating electrode so that a charged particle passes through the central orbit. ;SOLUTION: A position of reference plates 6 is adjusted so that a reference laser beam line 5 passes through a laser target central part of both upstream side and downstream side reference plates 6. An inclination of both reference plates 6 is set in the same by a level 601. Next, the cross center of a first target 3 of both end surfaces of a unit tank 21 is adjusted on a straight line connecting the cross center of a second target 603 of both reference plates 6 to align the unit tank 21. This alignment is performed on respective units 21 toward the downstream side from the upstream side. Afterwards, respective drift tubes 210 of the respective unit tanks 21 are aligned so that a proton beam line 11 coincides with the central orbit.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
