EXTENSION CONFIRMING METHOD FOR AREA SENSOR CONTROLLER AND AREA SENSOR CONTROL MASTER UNIT AND NONEXTENSION TIME USING COVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a human error when a controller incorrectly recognizes the number of area sensors or when the extension number is recognized by switching of a switch by confirming a nonextension when a cover acts on the switch enclosed in a control master unit. SOLUTION: A cover 64 is installed so as to surely cover an extension connector 44 of a control master unit 4 at nonextension time, and the installing hole 64b is positioned in an installing hole 44b of the control master unit 4 to be fixed by an installing screw 64d. A connector pin 54c is arranged in a connector 54 of a control slave unit 5 in response to a connector pin inserting hole 44c of the control master unit 4, the light projector and a light receiver are respectively connected to the control slave unit 5 by a signal conductor at area sensor extension time, and the connector 54 of the control slave unit 5 is connected to a connector 44 of the control master unit 5 so that mutual casings of the control master unit 4 and the control slave unit 5 are fixed by the installing screw. At abnormal time such as the connector 54 slips out of the control master unit 5 in this state, the abnormal situation can be detected since the cover does not exist.
