PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of memory dial registration items by assigning memory areas used for a simple automatic answering function to memory areas used for memory dial in the case that the simple automatic answering function is not required.;SOLUTION: This telephone set is provided with a memory 4, that includes memory areas for a simple automatic answering function and memory areas for a memory dial registration function and with an assignment means, which assigns the memory areas for the simple automatic answering function to the memory areas for the memory dial registration function by entry from an operation section 6.
