METHOD FOR UTILIZING MAGNESIA BASE WASTE BRICK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for using a magnesia base waste brick for a part of slag-making agent instead of a light burnt dolomite to protect the magnesia base brick for lining a steelmaking refining furnace. SOLUTION: A magnesia base waste brick is fractionally recovered and crashed, and the obtd. magnesia base waste brick small pieces are charged into an electric furnace and used for a slag-making agent to the molten steel in the electric furnace refining. At the time of producing P-adding molten steel as the molten steel, a charging quantity of the magnesia base waste brick small pieces is adjusted so that the total quantity of MgO content in the slag-making agent components used in the electric furnace fills with the MgO content in the magnesia base waste brick small pieces. Further, as an other method, the magnesia base waste brick is fractionally recovered and crashed and the obtd. magnesia base waste brick small pieces are charged into an electric furnace and used for the slag-making agent to the molten steel in the electric furnace refining and an other slag-making agent is charged nothing at all in the electric furnace. In the above using method, the magnesia base waste brick small pieces use the one crashed into =30 mm grain diameter.
