PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the transportation efficiency by making available the reciprocating running of a carrier truck in a linear motor type transportation line. ;SOLUTION: U-shaped forward and backward rails 4A and 4B are disposed with an exciting coil 3 for both the forward and backward routes put inbetween, A carrier truck 5 can run on both the forward and the backward rail 4A and 4B. At the front and rear end of a transportation line 1, transfer equipment 9 are installed. The carrier truck 5 runs on the forward rail 4A and then reduces its speed and stops at the transfer equipment 9, where the carrier truck is unloaded with a baggage 20. Then, the carrier truck 5 is turned together with parts 13A, 13B of the rails and the part 13A of the rail is brought in line with the backward rail 4B. Then, the carrier truck 5 runs on the backward rail 4B and then stops at the transfer equipment 9 installed at the rear end of the transportation line 1 and is transferred to the forward rail in the same manner as that at the front end of the line.
