PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make scruplously designable the condition of an object by calculating the similarity between respective images in a database and respective base shapes, comparing the similarity with a threshold and classifying an image whose similarity is the threshold or above to a category represented by the base shapes. SOLUTION: An image storing means receives an image from an image inputting means and stores the image and also, a base shape storing means receives a base shape from a base shape inputting means and stores the base shape. A similarity deriving means receives the image from the image storing means, receives the base shape from the base shape storing means and measures the similarity of the base shape and the image. A division deciding means compares the measured similarity with threshold from a threshold inputting means and threshold from the division deciding means, and when the similarity is the threshold or above, the image is classified to a category that is represented by the base shape.
