PHAGE AND PLASMID PREPARED BY LINKING GENE DNA OF ANTIMICROBIAL PROTEIN TO VECTOR DNA, TRANSFORMED MICROORGANISM AND TRANSFORMED PLANT INTO WHICH THEY ARE TRANSDUCED, AND ANTIMICROBIAL PROTEIN
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject novel gene DNA that comprises a gene DNA of an antimicrobial protein including a specific DNA base sequence and gives a recombinant plant such as paddy rice that is enhanced its resistance to diseases by expressing the antimicrobial protein originating from white radish sprouts.;SOLUTION: This novel gene DNA includes the whole or a part of a DNA sequence that is represented by the formula, encodes an antimicrobial protein originating from white radish sprouts. Then, a recombinant vector including the DNA encoding the antimicrobial protein originating from the white radish sprouts is prepared, transduced into a cultured cell of paddy rice to grow a recombinant plant the resistance of which to diseases is increased. This gene DNA is obtained by breaking the seeds of white radish sprout (Raphanus sativus L.) in the presence of guanidine, extracting the whole RNA, purifying mRNA from the whole RNA in a usual manner and subjecting the resultant mRNA to the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) using a DNA synthetic primer consisting of a partial sequence.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
