PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compsn. to form a nano composite having a high structural strength when added to a polymer or the like, by including an ion exchange reaction product obtd. by intercalation and reaction of a smectite type clay, a quat. ammonium compd. and a non-anionic org. material. SOLUTION: Included is an ion exchange reaction product obtd. by intercalation and reaction of one or more smectite type clays, pref. a bentonite and/or a hectorite, one or more quat. ammonium compods., pref. dimethyl dihydrotallowammonium chloride and/or methylbis(2-huydroxyethyl)stearyl- ammonium chloride, and a non-anionic org. material which is pref. one or more selected from the group consisting of a polyurethane, a polyamide, a polyester, a polycarbonate, a polyepoxide, and a polyolefin.
