PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the method and device for data packet processing of the outbound module of a space-disposed cell switch. ;SOLUTION: An output queue in which data packets are put is determined by using an extension set of queuing parameters. The device has multiple input modules 102, a switch control output 114 connected between an input module 102 and a switch fabric 104, and multiple output modules 106 connected to the switch fabric 104. Each input module 102 has a discriminating circuit 108 which discriminates combinations of queueing parameters from the extension set of queueing parameters and an output module 106. Each output module 106 has multiple output queues 116 and a cell selector 118 which selects an output queue as a destination where respective data packets are stored.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
