PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a data correction method in which an irregularity in respective magnetic sensors can be removed by a method wherein, in the case of a long pipe, the respective magnetic sensors are corrected on the basis of the mean of the respective magnetic sensors found by measured data and, in cases other than the long pipe, the respective magnetic sensors are corrected on the basis of the mean of the respective magnetic sensors found in advance regarding a long pipe whose data is stable. ;SOLUTION: In a preprocessing operation, a long pipe whose data is stable is selected, and the mean of respective magnetic sensors is found on the basis of data on a part which excludes a part near a weld line on the pipe. In a present processing operation, the part of a corresponding pipe line is judged on the basis of data to be processed. In the case of a long pipe, the mean of the respective magnetic sensors is found on the basis of data on the long pipe, and data by the respective magnetic sensors is corrected by using the mean. In cases other than the long pipe, the data by the respective magnetic sensors is corrected by using the mean of the respective magnetic sensors which is found in the preporcessing operation. Thereby, data can be corrected even in a part such as short pipes, miter bends or the like in which stable data cannot be obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
