PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly cool the insertion rods of a nonnuclear fuel core insertion structure even when it is used as the fuel rod extractable fuel assembly of a pressurized water reactor. SOLUTION: This nonnuclear fuel core insertion structure 60 is provided with multiple insertion rods 61 individually inserted into the hollow tubes 55 of a fuel rod extractable fuel assembly 50, a base plate connected to the upper ends of the insertion rods 61 and extending in the horizontal direction, and a holddown assembly 40 fitted to the upper face of the base plate 63. Lugs 65 are formed on the periphery of the lower face of the base plate 63.
