PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to detect the fluctuations of an earth crust and structural changes in the sea bottom accurately in water. ;SOLUTION: In a laser guiding part 10, a first laser transmitting/receiving part 11 is arranged at the final point in the course of an underwater navigating body, in which a synthetic-aperture sonar 21 and irradiates a laser beam for guiding in the direction of a course set from midair in advance. An attitude control part 13 set in the underwater navigating body controls the attitude of its own body, depth, and a course so that the laser beam for guiding which is irradiated from the laser transmit/receive part 11 can be received at the second laser transmit/receive part 12 extended from the underwater navigating body to the air. Once the laser beam for guiding is received at the laser transmit/receive part 12, the attitude control part 13 controls the body, so as to receive it with maximum sensitivity at all times to maintain the attitude, depth, and course.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
