O/W-TYPE EMULSION COMPOSITION RICH IN WAX AND ITS USE IN COSMETIC AND DERMATOLOGICAL FIELD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an O/W-type emulsion composition capable of introducing a wax into the O/W-type emulsion at a high ratio while keeping sufficient fluidity and comfortable feeling to the skin in application by including a mixture of a nonionic emulsifying agent. SOLUTION: The objective emulsion has the form of an O/W-type emulsion containing an oil phase dispersed in a water phase and contains a mixture of at least two kinds of nonionic emulsifying agent. The mixture is liquid at normal temperature, has an HLB value of 6-13 and contains one or more waxes in the oil phase in an amount of =5 wt.% based on the total weight of the composition. At least one kind of the wax has a dissolution starting temperature of =50 deg.C. The emulsifying agent mixture preferably contains (A) at least one kind of nonionic emulsifying agent having an HLB of =13 and (B) at least one kind of nonionic emulsifying agent having an HLB of =5. The emulsifying agent mixture preferably further contains at least one kind of coemulsifying agent.
