PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing unburnt carbon contained in heavy oil combustion ash efficiently at high purity. ;SOLUTION: In a method for removing unburnt carbon 19 from heavy oil combustion ash H where SO3 contained in heavy oil combustion exhaust gas is removed using calcium carbide, calcium hydroxide or calcium oxide, the heavy oil combustion ash H is dissolved into water W to produce ash slurry S.
