PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for estimating the spectroscopic characteristics of illumination light illuminating a specific position in a space by analyzing a photographed image of a standard plate placed in the measuring object position without using a special measurement apparatus, and an information recording medium having recorded the estimation program. ;SOLUTION: A photographed response value corresponding to each color code on a standard plate 1 is extracted from image data which the standard plate 1 arranging a plurality of color code with different spectroscopic reflection factor on the same plane are photographed with a photographing system 2 and an objective variable is formed. An explanation variable is formed by using a basic function for explaining the spectroscopic characteristics of the illumination light in a specific dimension, the spectroscopic reflection factor of each color code on the standard plate 1 and the spectroscopic sensitivity characteristic of the photographing system 2. With a deviation regression coefficient obtained by using this objective variable and the explanation variable and conducting regression analysis, an estimation value of the spectroscopic characteristic of the illumination light illuminating the standard plate 1 is calculated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
