PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording strategy evaluation method and an optimum strategy evaluation device permitting easy determination of a recording strategy which is suitable for each optical information recording medium. ;SOLUTION: In a recording method for recording marks on an optical information recording medium using recording strategies differing at least to a shortest mark and the other marks, the recording strategies are selected so that a recording power in which jitters containing all recording marks or jitters containing only the shortest recording symbol becomes minimum, so that a recording power, in which a deviation from the theoretical value of the longest recording mark becomes minimum, become approximately equal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
