PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain enough eliminating property without contamination in the eliminated part during printing or without deterioration in contamination-free property of the nonpicture part by forming an anodized film on an aluminum or aluminum alloy plate and treating the plate with an aq. soln. containing fluorine and titanium. ;SOLUTION: After an anodized film is formed on an aluminum or aluminum alloy plate, the plate is treated with an aq. soln. containing fluorine and titanium. When the treating liquid contains zinc, the eliminating property is further improved. In this case, any form of fluorine, titanium and zinc such as single ions, complex ions and colloid may be used as far as these elements are uniformly dissolved or dispersed in the aq. soln. Further, inorg. compds. of fluorine such as potassium fluoride, acid ammonium fluoride, org. compds. such as tetrafluorosuccinate, trifluoromethane sulfonate can be used.
