PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly or instantaneously and completely or nearly completely oxidation-crack hydrocarbon essentially consisting of methane in a low- temperature gas. ;SOLUTION: The method for oxidation cracking of the hydrocarbon in a hydrocarbon-containing low temperature gas essentially consisting of the methane is constituted of adding previously formed ozone to the hydrocarbon- containing low temperature gas essentially consisting of the methane and then heating the gas to high temperature above 370°C.
