PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate corrosion and abrasion of a pile and increase the strength of the pile itself to further improve dynamic stability, dispense with or reduce an intermediate pile, dispense with wave dissipating work, and economically construct an expected wave absorbing structure. SOLUTION: This wave absorbing structure is provided with steel piles 5 driven in a water bottom ground G and vertically erected, and abrasion resistant covered pipes 6 such as prestressed concrete pipes fitted onto the steel piles 5, are driven in the water bottom ground G and vertically erected, and cavities formed between these steel piles 5 and the abrasion resistant covered pipes 6 are filled with filler such as gravel and concrete. The composite main piles are used to construct the wave absorbing structure.
