PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce measurement time by a pF measurement method using a pF measurement sensor for detecting moisture tension (pF) according to the electrical resistance of a porous moisture-absorbing body in contact with an object to be measured. ;SOLUTION: Before using a pF measurement sensor 1 for measurement, a pF measurement sensor 1 is stored in a sealed container body 20, water 3 is heated for increasing steam atmospheric pressure in the sealed container body 20 and diffusing the steam into the pF measurement sensor 1, and an initial pF is given to the pF measurement sensor 1 according to water that has forcibly entered the pF measurement sensor 1, thus reducing the difference to the object to be measured when measurement is started and enabling the movement of water inside and outside the pF measurement sensor 1 to rapidly reach a balanced state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
