TREATING AGENT FOR CONVERTING GARBAGE INTO SOIL, ITS PRODUCTION AND TREATMENT OF GARBAGE FOR CONVERSION INTO SOIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the volume of garbage and to convert the garbage into soil in a short period of time without emitting a foul odor. SOLUTION: The treating agent for converting garbage into soil comprises a mixed soln. prepd. by adding ferric chloride to ferrous sulfate and magnesium sulfate as principal components. The mixed soln. may be dried and solidified. A mixture of the treating agent and a clay mineral is mixed with garbage, an adequate amt. of water is added and they are agitated under heating at 60-80 deg.C for 16-30 hr to convert the garbage into compost. The effective components are stuck to the clay mineral and a soil type fertilizer is obtd.
