PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the quick and easy change of embossing modes in an embossing machine, with which an embossing is executed onto a product made of paper sheet materials. ;SOLUTION: A composite embossing machine 90 can execute both the embossing with a nesting type embossed pattern and the embossing with a butting type embossed pattern on two take-up papers made of paper sheet materials. The composite embossing machine 90 has two embossing rolls 94 and 95, on both of which one and the same embossing pattern is engraved. When the butting type embossed pattern is wanted, the embossing rolls 94 and 95 are positioned so as to align the corresponding embosses on the two embossing rolls 94 and with each other. When the nesting type embossed pattern is wanted, the pivotally moving embossing roll 95 is axially or peripherally moved to the positionally fixed embossing roll 94 so as to engage or nest the embosses on the embossing roll 95 with or in the embosses on the embossing roll 94.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
