PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a symbol timing restoration system capable of reconstitution which is program-controlled by an asynchronous sampling for a digital signal receiver.;SOLUTION: This system is provided with an A/D converter 20 having an analog signal input terminal and a digital data signal output terminal, and a data sampling clock signal generating source 22 having a selectable and substantially fixed speed is connected with the A/D converter for operating sampling at a prescribed substantially fixed clock speed according to the data transmitting speed and modulating characteristics of a received signal. Also, digital signal processing loop means 26, 30-32, 34, and 37 for adjustably generating mutual dependent signals synchronously with the data of the output terminal asynchronous with the clock signal at the fixed speed are connected with an output terminal. This system is also provided with a controller means 24 for selectively constituting the clock signal generating source and the signal processing loop means according to the data transmitting speed and modulating characteristics of the received signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
