WIDE-BAND DIGITAL TUNER AND RECEIVER USING THE TUNER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify hardware design and to realize slow operation. ;SOLUTION: A tuner is provided with plural paths of parallel input structure provided corresponding to the output of a demultiplexer and each path remarkably attenuates an undesirable half of the spectrum of a wide-band digital signal in a Hilbert transformation filter concerning an output from the demultiplexer. The residual half of the spectrum is made a complex base band by a frequency converter 36, reduced to the sampling number of 1/2 by a down sampler 42 and shifted upward by frequency shift equal to 1/4 of a data sampling rate Fs by an Fs/4 shift part 44 to output I and Q data signals. The output of the tuner is supplied to a digital demodulation processing part 46 to be demodulated. The slow operation of the tuner is realized by reducing the number of the samples. Since, the tuner can be divided into two separate halves to make the copies of each other, design is facilitated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
