PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting method of a packing degree of fluidic material, with which the packing degree into a recessed part can be detected in high reliability in the case of packing the fluidic material of molding sand, etc., into the recessed part in a pattern, and a detecting instrument of the packing degree.;SOLUTION: In the case of packing the molding sand 4 into the recessed part 6 in the pattern 5 by holding the fluidic material 4 (molding sand) having light reflecting characteristic into a vessel 3, embedding the pattern 5 having the recessed part 6 into the molding sand 4 and oscillating the vessel 3 under this state, the light is emitted to the molding sand 4 from a projecting part in a detecting head 9 fitted to the recessed part 6 in the pattern 5, and this reflected light is received with a light receiving part in the detecting head 9, and the packing degree of the molding sand 4 in the recessed part 6 is judged based on the reflected light intensity received in the light receiving part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
