PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a posterior-processing device and a posterior-processing method for an image forming device capable of feeding and stapling cardboard. ;SOLUTION: A posterior-processing device comprises a plurality of stapler units 20 and 30 which staple recording paper fed from a copying machine main body for each copy and deliver the stapled paper, a plurality of feeding paths (a to d) branched for feeding the recording paper to the units 20 and 30, respectively, and switching means 40 to 42 at branch parts. In this case, it further comprises a stapler unit 20 with a gentle feeding path (b), a means to judge the type of paper to be formed into images, and a control means which guides cardboard to the stapler unit 20 which, when, for example, service information on cardboard is obtained from this means, controls the switching means 40 to 42 so as to feed and staple the cardboard.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
