PURPOSE:To execute a supplying electric power control in good accuracy and good responsiveness by controlling the supplying electric power to a plasma torch based on outputs of a molten steel temp. control arithmetic part and a throughput arithmetic part. CONSTITUTION:A plasma arc 26 is generated between the plasma torch 10 and the molten steel 14 in a tundish with the DC transfer type plasma torch 10. The temp. of the molten steel 14 is detected with a thermometer 16. Difference between the detected temp. of the molten steel 14 detected with the thermometer 16 and the aimed temp. is calculated in the control arithmetic part. Throughput flow rate of the molten steel 14 in the tundish is calculated in the throughput arithmetic part 18. The supplying electric power to the plasma torch 10 is controlled in a main control part 2 based on the outputs of the molten steel temp. control arithmetic part and the throughput arithmetic part 18. By this method, the continuous casting can sequentially be executed while securing the cast product quality.
